Exciting! Congratulations! If you’ve clicked on this site then there is probably a whole lot of love in your life right now, and you’ve just begun the process of working out how you want to celebrate it. Love is definitely worth celebrating.
This is your first step to finding a caring and experienced professional, who will help you create a memorable special occasion. You want someone committed to you and your vision, right? You want someone who will craft a personal and unique ceremony, that reflects who you are and the love you share. You hope for a little bit of ‘magic’ too? Well, you’ve come to the right place.
In 2009 I was appointed by the Department of Internal Affairs to be a Registered Marriage and Civil Union Celebrant. In other words, I’m one of the legal bits required to officiate these two occasions. Since the New Zealand Parliament passed the Marriage Amendment Bill in 2013, it is with great pleasure that I can offer same sex and transgendered couples the option to marry also. But being a registered celebrant doesn’t mean that my job description ends there.
There are many poignant occasions in life that require a sense of ceremony and the right words at the right time; renewal of vows, elopements, baby namings, 21st birthdays, house warmings and of course funerals (for they too are expressions of love), and the list goes on…
I have performed hundreds of varied ceremonies since that first, slightly nerve-wracking one years ago, and I still get the same buzz every time. Satisfaction comes from seeing people have a greater experience than they ever expected.
I have an extensive resource kit now, my own PA system, and as a member of the Celebrants Association of New Zealand (CANZ) I regularly attend conferences and workshops to expand my skill base and resources. I now get asked to present workshops at conferences and I am one of four trainers for The Celebrant Training College here in Aotearoa.
So, let’s meet and have a chat. You can see if I am the right person for your occasion and the process of working together can begin.
Don’t worry if you don’t live in New Zealand, or near me in North Canterbury, we can always chat on Skype.
I’m happy to negotiate travel to anywhere in our beautiful country - fulfil your dream for where, when and what your ceremony is to be, and I’ll be there.
